CPPS Board of Directors
The all-volunteer CPPS Board meets monthly and is elected for two-year terms by the membership at our Annual Meeting.
Analia Bertoni currently works in a digital stories project as part of a local movement advocating for better access to recreational spaces and health for families at South Park. Her work has focused on building the capacity of Latino parents to serve as educational leaders.
Andre Canty (Vice President) is a procurement agent at the Boeing Company. He has been involved in leadership with MESA – Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement – and has two children at Graham Hill Elementary.
Isabel D’Ambrosia is a parent of two middle school students at Hamilton International Middle School. Isabel is a graduate student in the School of Social Work at the University of Washington.
Belinda Chin is an environmental educator for the City of Seattle. Experienced in working with diverse audiences, including immigrant and refugee communities, she is a member of the city’s Race and Social Justice Core Team III. She is a former middle school science teacher, and has a son currently enrolled in Seattle Public School District.
Cris Fernandez (President) is a product of Seattle Public Schools – a graduate of West Seattle High School. He has been a leader at Coe Elementary, and South Shore Pre-K-8, where he is currently parent of a middle-schooler and PTA co-chair.
Kim Gould works for Tectura, a Bellevue-based consulting firm, where he provides systems engineering consulting to commercial aviation clients. Kim is a Seattle native, a public schools alumnus and a graduate of Garfield. He and his family reside in the Montlake neighborhood and have a young daughter who attends Stevens Elementary.
Andre Helmstetter is an Apple Genius. He has lived in the CD for about ten years. He is currently a member of the Squire Park community council, and the former owner of Cafe Vega. Andre is a graduate of Evergreen State College and a parent of two students at Leschi Elementary.
Andrew Kwatinetz is a parent of three and a co-founder and past board president of CPPS of Seattle. He is also a board member of TheFilmSchool and a board member and coach for Cascade Volleyball Club of Seattle. Before embarking on a screenwriting career, he was a senior manager at Microsoft.
Melinda Mann is a development consultant. A native of the Northwest, Melinda has two kids at Washington Middle School, is an involved PTA member, and currently serves on the board of Schools First and the Community Center for Education Results.
Tara Parker (Secretary) lives with her husband and daughter in West Seattle. She has worked as a lawyer in private practice and for the Washington State Court of Appeals.
Shannon Phillips is an owner and partner at Summit Law Group, where she maintains a labor, employment and general business litigation practice. She has children at Washington Middle School and Thurgood Marshall Elementary.
Darrell Powell (Treasurer) is a father of two students in Seattle Public Schools, a middle-schooler and a high-schooler. He is a Garfield alum and currently works as Director of Finance at Treehouse.
CPPS Staff
Stephanie Jones (Executive Director) is an educator and former math and social studies teacher who most recently worked as a consultant doing school improvement planning and program evaluation. She has a doctorate in Human Development and Social Policy (Education Policy) from Northwestern. Stephanie is the parent of three children, attending Stevens Elementary, Washington Middle School and Garfield High School.
