The all-volunteer CPPS Board meets monthly and is elected for two-year terms by the membership at our Annual Meeting.
Stephanie Jones, President
Stephanie is an educator and former math and social studies teacher who most recently worked as a consultant doing school improvement planning and program evaluation. She has a doctorate in Human Development and Social Policy (Education Policy) from Northwestern. Stephanie is the parent of three children, attending Stevens Elementary, Washington Middle School where she currently serves as PTA co-chair, and Garfield High School.
Shannon Phillips, Vice-President
Shannon
is an owner and partner at Summit Law Group, where she maintains a labor, employment and general business litigation practice. She has children at Washington Middle School and Thurgood Marshall Elementary.
Isabel D’Ambrosia, Secretary
Isabel
is a parent of two middle school students at Hamilton International Middle School where she currently serves as vice president for fundraising. Isabel is a graduate student in the School of Social Work at the University of Washington.
Kim Gould, Treasurer
Kim works for Tectura, a Bellevue-based consulting firm, where he provides systems engineering consulting to commercial aviation clients. Kim is a Seattle native, a public schools alumnus and a graduate of Garfield. He and his family reside in the Montlake neighborhood and have a young daughter who attends Stevens Elementary.
Andre Canty
Andre
is a procurement agent at the Boeing Company. He has been involved in leadership with MESA – Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement – and has two children at Graham Hill Elementary.
Kerry Cooley-Stroum
Kerry was a music PR exec for over fifteen years. She moved home to Seattle from L.A. to start a family and has twin fifth-graders in Seattle Public Schools. She’s worked locally as a campaign management/fundraising consultant, while discovering there can never be too many advocates for public education. Kerry serves on the boards of Schools First and her kids’ school PTA.
Cris Fernandez
Cris
is a product of Seattle Public Schools – a graduate of West Seattle High School, the University of Washington, and University of San Diego graduate school. He has been a leader at Coe Elementary, and South Shore Pre-K-8, where he is currently parent of a middle-schooler and PTA co-chair.
Andre Helmstetter
Andre
is an Apple Genius. He has lived in the CD for about ten years. He is currently a member of the Squire Park community council, and the former owner of Cafe Vega. Andre is a graduate of Evergreen State College and a parent of two students at Leschi Elementary.
Stephanie Jewett
Stephanie
was one of the primary organizers of the “Keep Our Kids Together” sibling campaign last year in response to the changes brought on by Seattle Public Schools’ new assignment plan. She is the parent of twin daughters who attend Kindergarten in Seattle Public Schools, as well as a preschooler.
Melinda Mann
Melinda
is the development director for the League of Education Voters. A native of the Northwest, Melinda has two kids at Washington Middle School, is an involved PTA member, and currently serves on the board of Schools First and the Community Center for Education Results, focused on bringing change to southeast Seattle and South King County schools.
Dan McGrady
Dan
is Vulcan Inc.'s Government and Regulatory Affairs Manager. Prior to working for Vulcan, Dan was a Legislative Aide to a Seattle City Councilmember for seven years, a state Senator and has managed several political campaigns. Dan and his wife have two children, one attending West Woodland Elementary.
CPPS currently has no funding for staff, so our efforts are all volunteer driven.
